Canon’s very crazy 17mm TSE makes shots like the one on the left possible in-camera. I strive to do as much as possible before the computer.

So! Let’s get started! Message me and we’ll talk about goals, approach and, of course, rates! We’ll set up a plan meeting your needs as well as your schedule! My rates are affordable so you’re not breaking the bank while learning expertly, not in a room of 300 or while staring at a screen with no personal feedback.

Private Mentoring

I’ve been involved with a vast variety of work over the decades, I’m now helping others achieve their photographic goals. What’s differnt about my approach? You set the agenda! I help you learn what you want. Unlike seminars or online classes taking you through their agenda, I help you determine your goals and then we customize lessons - just for you! We can cover: camera functions and lens selection; the basics of composition and aesthetics; advanced lighting - studio and location (I love location lighting!); portraits, street or even architectural photography; still-life and sports-action. My experience in newspapers forced me to learn all sorts of photography genres.

As a photographer who learns best from hands-on training rather than a classroom setting, Peter’s personalized sessions have been extremely valuable to me. The sessions are tailored to the skills I would like to focus on so every single minute is relevant and highly informative. By using my own camera and equipment, everything I learn can be put to immediate use. I am extremely grateful for these sessions and can’t wait to learn more!

Peter Keady began teaching me photography in 2007 when I was in high school for a project. His dedication and knowledge of the craft fueled in me a desire and love for photography continuing today. When I decided I wanted to become more of a professional and make a name for myself, I didn’t hesitate asking him to teach me more advanced topics. He makes the sessions very personable and focused on the section of photography I’m wanting to pursue. His hands-on demonstrations and approach really help in understanding the theory of photography and see it in action. Peter is an amazing photographer, a wonderful man, and a fantastic friend.

Great stuff!

Three decades in photography and a foundation in journalism, these are the building blocks of uniquely great images! I've photographed while hanging off buildings and out of helicopters. In the heat of Africa and the Dominican Republic. I've been in chicken processing plants and steel mills. Please see my about page for more details!

Location photography is my forté! I love to travel and will go just about anywhere, although, I'm not a fan of roller coasters!

  • Editorial - single and multiple images

  • Commercial - construction, advertising, industrial, architectural

  • Corporate - portraiture, promotion, website, social media

  • Portraiture - business, families and destinations

  • PhotoShop Editing - Digital post-processing skills are absolutely essential in today’s content-rich environment. Having a photographer who also provides digital editing is essential! For clients, all basic editing is included in the rate I quote for the shoot. Any “heavy editing” of images I’ve taken for your assignment, are charged at a reduced rate - which we discuss up front. For others who need editing for their digital images - you must own the copyright of the photo - I charge $75/hr.

Fees

I do not have a "day rate", typically a set price for an eight-hour period of time. Nor do I have hourly rates. Both methods of pricing are unfair. Day rates do not take into consideration details and difficulties. Hourly rates just end up with surprises, frustrations and usually missed shots. I price each project according to your needs, usage, location, and requirements to get the images you want and need. I'm competitive and fair. And my invoices don’t come with surprises, like travel, meals and other expenses tacked on. The price is the price. If adjustments need to be made due to unforeseen circumstances or significant changes in project scope, I contact you prior to invoicing! Let’s begin discussing working together to get the absolute best images!
